Support > Repository > Aggregation/Graph > Categorize dimensions

When values that become dimensions are subdivided, you can use the method of classification to make it easy to see.

Here is an example of a certain municipality business.In the work that pays benefits for each age category, the total payment is displayed as a graph.

The original data has a value every age (0 to 100 years old).However, if you compile this, the dimensions will be as fine as 0 to 100.It is classified into three categories "under 18", "aged from 19 to 65" and "over 65".

Figure 1 Total Grant Payment Per Age Group (Use of Category)

Prepare two models "Age class masters" "Residents".(Figure 2)

Figure 2 Defining two models

We prepare three types of age classification master "under 18", "age 19 to 65" and "65 years old and over".(Figure 3)

Figure 3 Prepare age classification master

Figure 4 shows the definition of the residents model.Dimension is (not "age") "age category" item.Major is "payment amount" item.

Figure 4 Definition of Resident Model

We calculate the age by automatic calculation.It is not stored in the database.

DATEDIF(${birth}, TODAY() ,"Y")
Fig. 5 Setting the calculation formula for age

For the age category item, refer to the age classification master shown in Figure 3.Set sorting rules in ascending order of ID.

Figure 6 Model Reference Setting for Age Division Item

The value of age classification item is automatically obtained by age.This is a categorizing operation.

IF(${age}<=18, 1, IF(${age}<65, 2, 3))

This expression is "to set" 1 "if younger than 18 years old," 2 "if younger than 65 years old," 3 "otherwise. The required values "1", "2", "3" correspond to the ID of the age classification master model, respectively.I will also not save it in the database.

Fig. 7 Set calculation formula for age classification item

We do not prepare the option of "not selected" for age category item.

Open "Screen> View> Summary View".Multiple aggregate views can be prepared.Here we define the summary view of number 1.

Check "Create screen" and set the page title.Dimension 1 specifies the age category item.

In addition, specify graph output.In this example, the type is "Column Column Chart" and height and width are specified by pixel value.In addition, the vertical axis is the only total.

Press the "Major" button and designate the payment amount item as major.
