In Wagby, the unit of data to be handled is called "model". In this chapter we will give a detailed explanation of model definition.

"Model" is a unit of data handled by Wagby.

It contains the data model (table in relational database) and screen layout, all the design information on various inputs and outputs.

(1) Model
I will explain the specification about the model.
(2) Model item
Describe the specifications of model items.
(3) Type
Specify the type for all model items. "Character" "Numeric" "Date/Time" "Item reference of other models" "Repeat container" is prepared.
(4) Specify primary key
Be sure to prepare one or more primary key items in the model. "Primary key" is a value that uniquely identifies data, it is a value without duplication.
(5) Specify search conditions
I will explain how to specify search items that can be used on the search screen.
(6) Specify list display items
This section explains how to specify items that can be used on the list display screen.
(7) Sort
Specify the initial sort rule of the search result list.
(8) Database details
The model is associated with a table in the database. You can set this details.
(9) Lock method
Wagby allows you to choose an optimistic locking method and a pessimistic locking method.
(10) Specify sub database
Multiple databases can be used from one Wagby application.
(11) Use database view
"View" prepared in the database can be treated as "Wagby" model.
